Welcome Cleveland alumni! This guide outlines how to get books and journal articles from the library. For questions, contact library staff: Email: library@cleveland.edu Phone: 913-234-0814 Text: 913-380-2898 Chat with Library Staff
Library Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm; Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may change due to campus events. During trimester breaks the library is closed.
If you would like to check out books you can apply for alumni borrowing privileges if you live in the greater KC metro area.
Fill out and submit the Alumni Borrower Application. We’ll notify you when your account has been activated
Alumni may check out books that are not in demand by CUKC students or faculty, and that are not rare, fragile, hard to replace, or reference materials. Library staff determine which materials are eligible for alumni check out and which are not available for alumni borrowing.
Alumni living outside the metro area can request books via interlibrary loan at their local public library.
Due to licensing agreements, remote access to subscription-based databases and ejournals is limited to current students and faculty. However, there are many open access research tools and journals available. See the Open Access Research Resources list on this guide.
If you need a specific article and are unable to access the full-text, we can usually send you a copy of whatever journal article you need. To request an article, use the Article Request Form. We can accept up to ten requests at a time.
These resources are free and include databases for finding scholarly articles and repositories of open access journals.
