The Chicago Style was developed by the University of Chicago Press. The Turabian style was adapted from the Chicago style by Kate Turabian for students and researchers.
Both styles are very similar and have two different versions, the Notes and Bibliography style and the Author-Date system. The Notes and Bibliography style is used in the humanities and the Author-Date system is used in the physical, natural and social sciences.
